Cardiac Testing in Thornhill

Exam Preparation
No special preparation is required for echocardiography, Holter monitoring, or ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
Stress Testing
Preparation is the same as for nuclear cardiology exams. Please bring all of your medications with you to the appointment.
For patients with diabetes:
- If you take oral diabetes medication: Eat a light breakfast or lunch and take half of your usual dose on the morning of the test. After the test, you may eat normally and take the remaining dose.
- If you use insulin: On the morning of the test, take half of your usual insulin dose and eat a light breakfast.

Do I need a requisition for cardiac testing?
Yes. Please bring a valid requisition form signed by your doctor or nurse practitioner, along with your Ontario Health Card.
Which tests require no special preparation?
No special preparation is required for echocardiography, Holter monitoring, or ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
What should I bring for stress testing?
Please bring all of your medications with you. If you have diabetes, follow the medication instructions provided by the clinic or ask our team before your appointment.
