- X-Ray
X-ray is a fast, non-invasive diagnostic imaging test that uses a small amount of ionizing radiation to create detailed images of bones and certain internal structures. It is commonly used to assess fractures, joint concerns, chest conditions, arthritis, alignment issues and other abnormalities requested by your referring provider.
At Healthwise Diagnostics, our technologists focus on accurate imaging, clear instructions and a comfortable patient experience. Please bring your signed requisition form and valid Ontario Health Card when you visit.
X-ray imaging helps referring clinicians evaluate bones, joints, chest findings and other concerns that require quick diagnostic images.
Your technologist will confirm the requested exam, position the area being imaged, and ask you to stay still briefly while images are taken. Most X-ray exams are completed quickly, and reports are sent directly to your referring physician for follow-up.
Healthwise Diagnostic offers walk-in X-ray services, alongside appointments.
For safety reasons, women who are pregnant or may be pregnant should avoid X-ray exams, particularly during the final two weeks of their menstrual cycle. If there is any possibility you are pregnant, please let the technologist know before your exam.
No special preparation is needed for an X-ray.
If you do not have a valid Ontario Health Card, payment by cash or cheque is required at the time of your visit.
